How to make payments to Cootamundra Shire Council
Cootamundra Shire Council accepts payments for Rates and Water Assessments by the following options:
B-PAY
Contact your participating Financial Institution to make this payment directly from your cheque, savings or credit card account (Minimum Payment $20, Maximum payment $10000). The Biller code and Payment Reference number appear on your bill.
B-POINT
Make sure you have you credit card and council notice handy. The Biller code and Payment Reference number appear on your bill.
CREDIT CARD

DIRECT DEBIT
Ratepayers are urged to take advantage of the direct debit payment facility which enables rates to be paid by direct funds transfer from your bank account.
Ratepayers who use this facility will no longer need to remember to pay their rates by the instalment dates. If you have not already arranged to pay by direct debit simply contact the Rates Clerk on 69402109 or download the Direct Debit Request Form below or call into the Council Office to obtain an authority form, and your bank account will then be debited directly on the instalment dates.
BY MAIL
Cheque payments Only - Simply detach the payment slip from the bottom of the notice and mail with payment to:
P O Box 420, Cootamundra NSW 2590.
Please make cheques payable to Cootamundra Shire Council and mark "Not Negotiable".
Do not send cash.
Please note that receipts will not be issued for mailed payments, unless you complete request on the bottom of the notice.
Any change of address details can be noted on this slip when you make or return your payment.
IN PERSON
Payments may be made in person at:
Cootamundra Shire Office, Wallendoon Street, Cootamundra
Office Hours - 9.00am - 5pm Monday to Friday
Payments may be made by cash, cheques, EFTPOS or Credit cards* (*Credit Cards incur a surcharge of .75%).
Payments can also be made in person at either Stockinbingal or Wallendbeen Post Office Agencies.
Any change of address details can be noted on this slip when you make or return your payment.
Cootamundra Council offers a rates instalment option to all ratepayers. Instalment details and dates are printed on your full rates notice, which is issued in July each year. Instalment notices are issued quarterly, with reminder notices issued if payment is not made. Interest is charged on overdue rates. Rates instalment dates are:
- 31st August
- 30th November
- 28th February
- 31st May
