What to do if your bin has been stolen or lost

Each residence and or business is responsible for thier own recycling bins. They are to remain at the property address.

Each Recycling bin has a unique number that is listed on the side of the bin. Keep a record of this number.
If you do not have a record of your bin number, Contact the Shire Council to obtain this, as you may find your bin is not far from home.

If after checking other bins in your area you are still unable to locate your bin, you will be required to purchase a replacement bin for that property.

That is why it is very important to place the bins out and collect them, only on the correct days to avoid them sitting out any longer than necessary.
Also it is a good idea to display the property address on the bin to avoid confusion with other residences.

Bald Hill Landfill

This year Council will be utilising the Bald Hill landfill site to dispose of all putrescible waste. Cootamundra landfill will therefore become a transfer station with only dead animals and builders rubble being buried and green waste processed.

Green Waste

Residents should be aware that green waste is not accepted in their residential garbage collection service. However, Council will schedule a Free Kerbside Green Waste collection for Spring and this will be advertised in the local paper.

Household Recycling

Householders are required to seperate recyclables such as, plastics, glass, paper, cardboard, aluminium and tin cans from their domestic waste by means of placing them in the seperate recycling bin provided.
